In school when I was studying Lichtenstein in Art History classes, I could have never dreamed that in a few short years he would actually be swiping some of my art. The whole thing is surreal to me and I’m not even really sure how I feel about it, but I’ve got to admit that part of me enjoys the notoriety of being able to say I was one of Lichtenstein’s “victims”.
Steve Epting discusses how a panel from an Avengers issue he drew was appropiated by Roy Lichtenstein for one of the latter’s works. Interesting stuff.
