It’s easy to write off the 1990’s as a wasteland of terrible grimaces, unnecessary pouches and holo-foil covers, but there was a wealth of material that was not only excellent, but vital to comics growing as an art form. Grant Morrison’s Animal Man definitely falls into that latter category.

One of two pages from Brian Bolland’s contribution to Justice League of America #200, from way back in 1982. This is one of the earliest comics that set me on the path of being a lifelong DC fan, as well as one of the first genuine “OH SHI-” moments I came across.
